The Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines (REBAP), the country’s foremost organization of licensed real estate brokers, will be holding its 2019 national convention in Baguio City on November 11 to 13, to be held at the prestigious Baguio Country Club. Dubbed “Ignite, Inspire, Innovate: Empowering Certified Real Estate Brokers,” this event will be REBAP’s 41st national convention.
A host of interesting topics have been prepared by the convention’s organizing committee, led by national president Al Roque, including talks from the property-tech sector, the government, and local real estate experts. Among those invited to speak include Lamudi Philippines’ Nadine Pacis, and CEO of innovative real estate technology firm Prosperna Dennis Velasco, who will speak on the digital transformation of the Philippine real estate sector.
The organizing committee also invited as Guest of Honor Ofelia Binag, Chairman of Professional Regulatory Board of Real Estate Service (PRBRES) to update real estate brokers on the current initiatives of the board, while boutique real estate brokerage firm Spectrum Properties’ Carl Dy will highlight current opportunities in tourism and hotel room investing.
Baguio City mayor Benjamin Magalong will lead the convention’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on the first day, November 11, while Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) chairman Eduardo del Rosario will be the convention’s keynote speaker and guest of honor. Chairman del Rosario will grace the second day of the event.
Meanwhile, Pinnacle Real Estate Consulting Services president and managing director Michael Mabutol will walk delegates through an overview of the Philippine real estate market and opportunities and challenges that consumers and investors will be encountering over the coming year.
“It’s been a good year so far for the Philippine real estate,” according to Mabutol. “We expect the market to continue its upward trajectory over the next year thanks to ramped-up public spending on key infrastructure projects. The local market has continuously been buoyant, from office and commercial real estate to the horizontal and vertical residential sectors, and we expect this to continue well into 2020.”
Aside from Mabutol, other experts invited to speak include Keller Williams Philippines’ Andy Mañalac (“What It Takes to Be Globally Competitive”), noted architect and PDP Architects managing director Cathy S. Saldaña (“Sustainability in Philippine Real Estate 2020-2030: Master Planning, Architecture, Construction and Management”), Dolly Da Costa (“Scopes & Delimitations of Property Management”), Noel Cobangbang (“Proposed TRAIN 3 Property Valuation”), and Ely Saavedra (“Due Diligence of Shoreline Real Estate Properties and Their Improvements”).
The three-day event will also feature a series of fun activities, including a welcome party on the first day to be hosted by actor Alex Calleja and a talent night on the second day. A mass will also be held on the morning of the third day, followed by a formal sendoff by REBAP’s national officers.
