A continuous development in the “Next Ten Cities” for the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Industry is upbeat. Due to the overwhelming demand for office space from the BPO industry, a report from Pinnacle Real Estate Consulting Services, Inc. noted that the industry has started to grow in some cities.

The report explained that around one million square meters of office space are expected to be accessible in the next two years in Metro Manila. With the expansive amount of office space in Metro Manila, BPO companies may search for different areas later on keeping in mind the end goal to move away from the competition of valuable assets and skilled workers.

Beside the blasting BPO market in Metro Manila, there is also an expansive demand for BPO office spaces in Cebu. With 700, 000 square meters of high-quality office spaces, the average rent is significantly lower than in Metro Manila.

Aside from Metro Cebu, there are also other cities expected to be the “Next 10 Cities” that will pull companies in the BPO industry. These are Davao City, Metro Cavite, Iloilo City, Baguio City, Metro Laguna, Dumaguete City, Metro Naga, Lipa City, Metro Bulacan, and Metro Rizal.

Meanwhile, a different report from CBRE Philippines stated that BPO organizations search for areas outside of the Metro where they can take advantage of the work pool. According to the real estate advisor, Metro Manila would be the needed area for these outsourcing organizations, however; more than seventy percent of BPO occupations today are situated in Metro Manila, which means around sixty-two percent of the Metro Manila work pool has as of now been consumed.

CBRE also stated that these organizations situated outside Metro Manila are where there is more undiscovered work and where they have less competition and restricted poaching.
